Oscar Varona has been the Managing Director of Varona Capital since 2017. He is the lead representative and oversees all client relationships.

Oscar has a diverse educational and career background, having served in both domestic and international roles in both the private and non-profit sectors. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Florida International University, Oscar lived and worked in Michigan for Kairos International and University Christian Outreach as a Mission Director doing university and high school ministry work. He eventually moved back to Miami and spent three years as a commercial real estate broker. When he wanted to combine the international and investment work from his previous two roles, he pursued an MBA at Notre Dame, and was subsequently hired by Domino’s Pizza as an international operations and business consultant in Latin America. After several years as a consultant for large and small corporations, Oscar decided to build on his family’s insurance practice and build out a wealth management and advisory capability to complement the insurance and retirement planning work the firm has done for close to 40 years.

Oscar currently lives in Miami, Florida with his wife, Denise, and their four children. Oscar is an active board member of both the Notre Dame Mendoza College of Business Graduate Alumni Board and the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Miami. He and his family attend St. John Neumann Catholic Church and he enjoys spending time with his family, playing tennis and golf, and backpacking throughout the national parks.
